Blu Planet Services is committed to making this website accessible to everyone, regardless of disability or the technology they use to browse the web.

Our target standard

We aim for this website to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. This is the standard referenced in UK public sector accessibility regulations and widely regarded as the benchmark for good accessibility practice.

What we have done

The following accessibility measures have been built into this website:

  • Semantic HTML5 with proper heading hierarchy (H1 → H6 used in order)
  • Landmark regions (header, nav, main, footer) to support screen reader navigation
  • A visible “Skip to main content” link at the top of every page, accessible via keyboard
  • All images include descriptive alt text, or alt="" for decorative images
  • Colour contrast ratios of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text, in line with WCAG AA
  • Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields)
  • Full keyboard navigation — all interactive elements are reachable and operable without a mouse
  • ARIA labels and roles used where HTML alone is insufficient to communicate purpose
  • Form fields have visible labels associated programmatically via for/id
  • Error messages in the contact form are associated with their fields and announced to screen readers
  • Animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion user setting — all motion effects are disabled for users who have indicated a preference for reduced motion
  • The site is usable at 200% browser zoom without loss of content or functionality
  • No content flashes more than three times per second
  • No autoplay audio or video
  • Page titles are unique and descriptive for each page
  • The language of the page is declared in the lang attribute

Known limitations

We are not aware of any significant accessibility barriers on this site at launch. However, we recognise that accessibility is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time task. We will continue to review and improve the site as it evolves.

Technical information

This website is built with plain HTML5, CSS and JavaScript — no frameworks or build tools. It has been developed with accessibility as a core requirement throughout, not as an afterthought.

It has been tested manually using keyboard navigation and checked against WCAG 2.2 guidelines. We aim to also test with screen readers periodically.
